Cynthia, born in Queens NY, began dancing at the age of 5 and is a dance alumnus of NYC High School of Performing Arts. Her first professional engagement was 1973’at age 15, an off-off broadway showcase called CRUSHES directed by Playwrights Horizons’, Joseph Kavanaugh.
Trained in ballet, tap, and jazz, she then spent the next thirty years performing in Musical Theatre, Revues, Film, Television Specials, US Tours and European Engagements. Some of her credits include productions of The Wiz, Hair, Superstar, Tintypes and the film A Chorus Line. She has performed with Shirley Maclaine, Peter Allen, Liza Minelli, Stevie Wonder, Gregory Hines, the legendary Gene Kelly, and the incomparable, Sammy Davis Jr. Choreographers she has worked with include Michael Peters, Debbie Allen, Gregory Hines, Tommy Tune, and Jeffrey Hornaday.
Ms. Elane has also appeared on daytime soaps, primetime television, numerous commercials, industrials and as a print model. She currently coaches young actors & dancers privately on audition and performance techniques.
In addition, she holds a BFA in Photography and Related Media. Her photographs have won awards and have been featured in several photography publications.
