Produced and Directed by Steven Carl McCasland  (Onward Victoria, CharlieandAlgernon, Eating Raoul), this 1971 Kander and Ebb-tuner was presented April 17th in concert form with a starry cast led by Jim Brochu (Zero Hour, The Last Session, Brigadoon) and DO40 members Loni Ackerman, Karin Baker, (George M!, Coco), Penny Worth (Chicago, The Grand Hotel, Irene),  JoAnn Mariano (The Patty Duke Show), Patti Mariano (The Music Man, George M) and Joyce Nolen (Smile, Stop The World I Want To Get Off) as well as Britt Cryer (Shelter, The Desert Song), David Cryer (1776, Chess, Phantom of the Opera), Don Johanson (Jelly's Last Jam), Ernestine Jackson (Jelly’s Last Jam) and Frank Root (42nd Street, Mack & Mabel).

Karin Baker, tappin’ away!

Karin Baker shined in her “old lady” tap routine, as did Loni Ackerman in her comic turns and Patti Mariano and Ernestine Jackson in two fabulous duets.  Joyce Nolen, trouper that she is, performed with crutches after a visit to the ER when she fell off her bicycle on her way to an audition!

The cast performed to two sold-out shows, with plenty of DO40-ers in the audience to lead them on!  At the second show, DO40 board members Lawrence Merritt, DO40 president John Sefakis and DO40 member Ken Urmston shared a table to root for our team.

DO40 hopes to work with producer Steven McCasland with his next concert attempt, Bring Back Birdie, in the Fall!
